Christopher Archer is the Managing  Partner at Archer, Archer & Co. He started his legal practice first at the Ghana Legal Aid Board and Hesse & Larsay, a law firm in Accra, Ghana with a reputation for commercial and corporate practice, where he advised on complex transaction concerning mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, takeovers, equity financing, privatizations and initial public offerings and the enforcement of rights under financing agreements. He then moved to Heward–Mills  & Co as a senior Associates.In the year 2005, he founded the law firm of Archer, Archer and Co. and is currently the Managing Partner.

In the past years he has gained considerable experience ranging from general assignments as a legal advisor for financial institutions on compliance matters to corporate financing and investment promotion issues.

Throughout his ten years period of practice he has been actively engaged in commercial litigation arising in the corporate and commercial sectors, such as banking transactions, civil fraud, corporate governance, financial services regulation mergers and acquisitions , share capital reorganizations and employments law. As an alternative to drawn – out litigious battles in the courts, Christopher also employs alternative dispute resolution along with mediation in his work.

Christopher is a member of the Ghana Bar Association and the International Bar Association

Sylvia has twelve years experience in offering legal support to banking and corporate institutions and in securities and compliance work. She has represented the interests of clients at many regulatory agencies and dispute resolution fora. She has solid reputation for excellent legal research and possesses great attention to detail. She holds the F.K Apaloo / Ghana School of Law Award for Best Student in Company Law & Practice.

Sylvia started her legal practice as a Junior Counsel in the law firm of Heward-Mills and Co. She then joined Laryea Laryea and Co. PC as an associate Barriester and Solicitor, where she worked directly with the principal of the firm to advise a client base made up of local and foreign business concerns in the petroleum, banking, finance, mining, manufacturing, trading and real estates industries. She further represented corporate and individuals clients in land and commercial litigation in the Superior Courts of Ghana and advised expatriate clients on Ghanaian immigration Laws and represented them if necessary at immigration hearings to enable them obtain residence and work permits.

She then joined UniBank (Ghana) Limited, a financial institution in Ghana where she is the Company Secretary and Head of the Legal Department. Sylvia is currently pursuing a Master of Laws programme in Oil and Gas at the University of Ghana.

kwame Appiah has immense experience in offering legal advice to banking and corporate institutions and has represented clients at many regulatory agencies and dispute resolutions fora. He had prior to joining Archer, Archer & Co as a partner he worked with Laryea , Laryea & Co a legal firm in Accra Ghana Advising a clients base made up of local and foreign business concerns in compliance and regulatory issues, corporate financing and restructuring and listing  on the Ghana Stock Exchange.

He has offered corporate secretarial services to corporate clients by delivering excellent legal support to the boards of directors and managements of several companies by assuring compliance with the corporate laws of Ghana and in conformity with best practices in the world.

Kwame holds several academic awards and distinctions including the F.K. Apaloo / Ghana School of Law Awards for the best student in company law & practice and Paul Adu -  Gyamfi / Ghana school of law Awards for the best male student  in company law & student in company law & practice.

Kwame Appiah is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.


ALEXANDER KWAW (of Counsel)

Prior to joining Archer, Archer & Co. Alexander Kwaw worked with Messrs Kye & Co. Legal Practitioners in Accra Ghana.

He was in charge of drafting of documents of all kinds including contract agreements, conveyances, will etc. At Messrs Kye & Co he dealt with a lot of commercial litigations.

Alexander Kwaw is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.
